Corey Robinson
After a very successful high school career at Myers Park in
Charlotte, NC, Corey went on to receive a full athletic scholarship
to North Carolina Central University. During his tenure,
he excelled as a four year starter and letterman. After
college, he went on to work-out for various NFL teams, to include
the Carolina Panthers.
- Thereafter, Corey career began in coaching football on
the middle school level
- Coached at Livingstone college from 2000-03
- Working various NFL summer camps from 1998-2005
- Worked for Ken Harris’s sports management firm in Charlotte,
NC
- Assisted in the recruiting, negotiation of contracts, and
training of athletes
Lavale Thomas
Lavale is a graduate of Tulare Western High and Fresno State Univ 1982-1986. Lavale
was all-star high school player in both Football and Track and
Field. Scoring over 45 touchtowns and rushing for 3600 yds. He
continued to excell in college, starting all 4yrs at Fresno State.
Lavale was selected in the 1986 Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs
and later traded to the Greenbay Packers playing for a total
5years. Retired NFLPA Active Member.
Lavale started his coaching career at Fresno State 1999-2000
in an adminstrative capacity in the athletic study hall. Lavale
later took coaching position at Livingstone College 2001-2003
coaching runningback and linebackers. In 2003 Lavale was the
Defensive Corrdinator at Barber-Scotia College.
Lavale is currently an active member of the NFLPA in Washington,
DC under Gene Upshaw and Andree Collins helping develop career
programs for retired NFL Players. Lavale has been offered and
will be accepting a coaching position in NFL Europe for the 2007
season.
LeDell Richardson,
Known as Dell
by friends, works closely with all GDS Prep clients using over
20 years of college recruiting process knowlege to assist high
school student-athletes and their parents make a smooth transition
from high school to college.
A native of Charlotte, NC, Dell played football and ran track
at North Mecklenburg High School, where he was All-Conference,
All-County and a North Carolina East-West All-Star Game participant
in football and All-Conference and school record holder in track.
After high school. Dell continued his football career at Norfolk
State University as a freshman starter for a year and transfered
to North Carolina Central University to become a two year starter.
While at NCCU he played for several now NFL and Division I coaches.
Dell finished at NCCU studying Political Science. Dell then played
professionally in the German Football League for the Penzberg
Miners.
After his playing career, Dell began coaching where he has been
a successful head high school and college football and track
coach. Dell's relentless commitment to giving back to the community
led him to co-founded Atlantic Career College a vocational-trade
program to develop economic and employment opportunities to underprivilged
people. His continued love for helping kids and sports placed
him with Gameday Sports to serve as an academic and athletic
guidance specialist for student-athletes. From helping place
clients into colleges with scholarships to assisting them with
college financial preparation, Dell ensures each client is academically,
financially and athletically ready to attend college.
Dell resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Kim and son's LaMar
and Travis and daughters Ebony and Kaitlyn.
Bernard Minger
Bernard
joined Gameday Sports in
2006.He is involved in assisting high school athletes with college
and future life choices. In addition, he is also involved in
guiding young athletes in assisting and giving back to the community.
Bernard attended Howard University where he played football
and ran track. Later, Bernard transferred to UNC Charlotte receiving
his bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
Currently Bernard is pursuing his Masters of Architecture I
degree. Bernard resides in Charlotte where he attended West Charlotte
High School.
Jarrett Robinson
Jarrett
isa
native of Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended Myers Park High
School from 1984 to 1987. At Myers Park High School he was a
member of a successful Varsity basketball program. He also participated
in the Five Star Basketball Camp, and played Junior Olympic Basketball
(AAU).
Jarrett went to Livingstone College on a four-year basketball
scholarship. Later, he was recruited by Winston Salem State University.
During the summer, he played in various summer leagues, including
the Charlotte NBA-Pro-AM in 1989, 1990, 1991. Presently he is
coaching Youth basketball, baseball and football.
Jarrett's awards:

• Played against Russia National Team
• CIAA Tournament Three Point Record
Tony Pearl
Tony has been involved in sports for over 25 years. As a former
stand out student/athlete, Tony’s passion is to assist
each GDS client with effectively making the transition from the
playing fields and how to utilize those on the field game and
team experiences in the corporate world or in business ownership.
It is Tony’s mission that each GDS client possess the knowledge
and have the necessary options in place so that they can fulfill
all of their life dreams in addition to sports.
With over 12 years experience in the corporate world, Tony’s
background includes sales and management experience with Sherwin
Williams, a fortune 500 company and currently he consults the
technological needs of large to medium sized corporations for
their domestic as well as their international operations. With
a multimillion dollar base of accounts in which he manages and
oversees, Tony is positioned and well-suited to advise on career
opportunities for the young adults of our generation.
Prior to GDS, Tony helped recruit athletes for Team USA Select
Basketball, an organization committed to assisting elite American
basketball players with professional opportunities internationally.
Tony is currently in the final stages of launching a non profit
called The Pearl Philanthropy Organization which will offer scholarship
opportunities for exceptional student/athletes (Ambassador Athletes
in which he refers to them) who also serve in their communities.
Tony has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
with a concentration in Marketing from North Carolina Central
University. Tony is an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
Inc. and resides in Charlotte NC with his son, Justin Anthony.
Warren Wallace
Warren D. Wallace attended Fayetteville State University and
served in the United States Air Force for four years. His
love for sports has won him recognition amongst his peers as
the ‘go to guy’ to obtain stats, historical knowledge
and opinion on all sports – specifically NFL football
and college basketball.
Warren’s favorite sports are basketball, football and
wrestling. He has stood behind his favorite NFL team – Dallas
Cowboys during their high and low periods; and has rode out with
the UNC – Tarheels during their high and low periods as
well.
With an enthusiastic personality and his strong knowledge of
sports, Warren D. Wallace is the one to go to for all of your
sport needs.
Steve Ship
Steven Shipp brings to Game Day Sports, a success athletic career
as a player as well as a coach. While attending West Charlotte
High School, Steven won State Championships in Track (1994) and
Football (1995). As a senior, he was ranked as high as the number
three wide receiver in the nation and number one wide receiver
in the state of North Carolina. He also earned Parade All-American
honors among others, top five rankings in seven different NC
state record categories, and started on the 1996 NC Shrine Bowl
team. Upon graduation, he attended the University of Florida
during the Steve Spurrier era. After two seasons
in Gainesville, he transferred to North Carolina A&T State
University. Playing under Bill Hayes, the Aggies won the
MEAC Conference Championship as well as the National Black College
National Championship (1999). Shipp’s school record
for the most receiving yards in a single game (183 yards) was
just recently broken by Doug Brown in 2004. Shipp earned
his Bachelors Degree in Public Relations in 2002.
The same day
he walk the stage at his college graduation, he coached in his
first high school state championship game. Since Shipp’s
last college course could be taken on-line he moved back to Charlotte
and began working and coaching at Independence High School. In
his four year coaching career, Shipp has won four straight State Championships.
In three of the four championship games, one of his receivers was named game
MVP. He coached NC State record holders Jarvis Hill, Mohammad Massaquoi, Hakeem
Nicks at the wide receiver position. Shipp prides himself on producing
wide receivers that are ready to make an immediate impact on the college program
that they attend. To date, two of his wide receivers have started games
their freshman year (Mohammad Massaquoi- University of Georgia and Hakeem Nicks-UNC-Chapel
Hill) and one who has began setting records his red-shirt freshmen year (Billy
Wiggins- Elizabeth City State University).
In
the spring of 2007, Shipp will start his own wide receiver’s camp, Catch & Tuck. The
program will take Charlotte area wide receivers and transformed them from good
high school receivers to top college receivers. He is a Charlotte native and
has two young sons (Steven Shipp, Jr. 7-years old and Jordan Shipp 1-year old).
